Often parents worry they are not spending enough quality time with their little ones. What if there were a way to spend a minimum of 20 minutes a day with your child that can expand both your child’s cognition and emotional well being? There is such a way and it is found in play. Children learn, process, and understand their world through the act of play. It is a child’s job to play and use their imagination to expand their cognition, emotional intelligence, and keep their development on track. Child led play gives undivided attention to children which they crave and cherish. Child led play allows the child to experience that parents can listen and understand what they are experiencing. Child led play increases self-esteem, speech/language development, positive behavior, builds the relationship between parent and child, and holds child’s attention to the task decreasing deficits in attention span. This workshop will define the science and concepts behind child led play, allow participants to experience child led play and give ideas and pointers on how to execute child led play with your children.
