Miami Maternity Resources

Maternity Stores

  • A Pea in the Pod (Coral Gables, Kendall) It’s not perfect, but this national chain is one of the best local options for maternity basics like jeans, capris, work clothes, etc. Staff alternates between helpful and less so and prices can skew high, but the selection is broad and changes regularly. Also a great place to buy nursing bras. 350 San Lorenzo Ave, 305-648-1201; 7247 SW 88 St; 305-665-0936.
  • American Apparel (Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Miami Beach, South Miami) Not technically a maternity store, but a great option for inexpensive basics. Cotton tanks, skirts and dresses work year-round in Miami.
  • Calypso (Bal Harbour) Although technically not a maternity store, Calypso is a South Florida pregnant woman’s dream. Nearly half of the store’s collection is lightweight, flowy, elastic and free-floating – all great investments for nine months of expansion. We’re particularly enamored with their stretchy skirts that double as dresses. 9700 Collins Avenue, 305-866-8202
  • Gap Maternity (Aventura, Coconut Grove) Easy, breezy basics and seasonal items are prime picking at Gap Maternity. Look for basics like jeans and capris and/or seasonal accents. Moderate prices. Aventura: 19575 Biscayne Boulevard, 305-932-1522; Coconut Grove: 3015 Grand Avenue, 305-529-9499
